Yes, but it's funny that the only mistake he chose to correct was that one. The entire thread is full of bad spelling - my favourite is "right off/rite off" vs "write off".

He'd never be able to sell it to someone on the forums or in the know, but how many people out there join forums or clubs before they get the car?........ - if the car looks ok cosmetically and has no recorded damage then it would be easy to get stung i think.

his suspention mounts look suspect lots of mastic where there shouldn't be any.

Didnt see the pics so cant be difintive but if the suspension lugs are torn off if, it not the end. The box section is available from lotus as a replacment part (although not listed!). If its done properly its not a problem. Likewise the crash structure is a piece of cake to repair/replace. The issue is whos doing the work not what works to be done.

I know Phoenix rebuild write offs for the racers but they can weld Ali...

welding ally is not the best idea, it softens it
thats why lotus glue it and not weld it
