New Car Warranties, when they don't apply.
Just got a call 10mins ago.... Mines is now fixed woohoo. Picking her up tomorrow. I guess it was/is in the workshop. Hope mines is clean as it was f3cking mocket when it left here on a recovery truck and I wasn't looking forward to getting all that off....steve_weegie wrote: No sign of yours out back gorrie.... I have no signature.
Its stories like this that make me think if I did have the cash would I buy a new Lotus ? (Exige S to be exact .) I fully accept anything I had done outside Lotus spec would be void but people having to fight for every bit of genuine warranty work on a £30 k plus car is just poor service.
Its enough to make you buy a Audi ( which are probably just as bad ).

long story short , gearboxed messed up , manufacturers failure , lotus refused to pay out as on the ecu report the guy before me had "abused" it . Apparently car had done a few standing starts and on occasion been reved above 8000rpm. My arguement was that these cars are build as track day cars and are treated like this by vast majority of owners. Not to mention the fact that the cars are marketed as "road going track cars" , yet I should be driving it like a fairy.
As the dispute went on and on , they seemed to backtrack a little and eventually we came to a compromise, new clutch , gear box repaired and full labour, all for zilch.
horrible time so it was ! only had the car few weeks when happened and new gear box would have been 5k before labour
