Partial success, idle and sticking throttle gone - 5.5k rpm limiter still there.

For reference - I cleaned and re-positioned the wheel speed sensor and all is well, no more 5.5k rpm limiter

Good thread........"Robin remote diagnosis" coupled with the fact that you knew the wheel speed sensors are forever playing up

Glad to hear you got it sorted! Inlet manifold gasket could have been a bummer if it had let coolant into the inlets!!

Yea, luckily it had only sagged into inlet to 2 and 3.

All is well now, just back from a nice drive up to lochgilphead/crinnan canal
