Right had a good look about while fixing my oil leak.

Found the foam RHS and it's dry, I see what you mean about those rivits! But I couldn't reach any on the LHS but it still looks dry. Still not lost any water.

Weird

Anyway as a backup plan I have aquired a K16 head from flea-bay for £30 inc P&P... Might be a low-port head (Didn't have time to check!) if so it'll go straight back on flea bay, if not I have a new project.....

£30, nothing ventured nothing gained... Hey I'll never finish it anyway. (If it even turns up!)

Shug:
Are you referring to your "Stu Special" or another ill fated DIY project?

Can't do any harm....

When it eventually worked out, Stu's work was second to none. It was just finding a head that didn't look like an Aero bar when you broke the surface of it was something of a 'challenge'.....

I'm pretty sure that this will be a low port head, but for £20 + £10 p&p I couldn't say no. More of an experiment than anything, I have designs for building a flow bench too....

Richard when my sill pipe went it would be ok for hundreds of miles then dump all its water, let her cool down refill ok again ,the car had had a previous head gasket before i got her but the real fault was the sill pipe ,on a trip to killen last summer it lost its coolent ( drivers sill gets very burn fingers hot ) and the water came out of the pass side because it runs into the battery box and along ( I bypassed heater to d/check) local garage were usless so had to resort to radweld to get home once the pipe was removed ( pig of a job ) rivet had holed the pipe but was also acting as a plug hence intermittant
I had a latter head gasket and althou I changed it it did not fa

Get local garage to presure test and the coolent will always run forward unless car is jacked up hence feeling at the rear is not conclusive
