No, the 4x4 look doesn't do it for me.
I went for the poverty spec Gaz gold and a good geo set up.

What sorta cost is a geo setup then, and where would be the place to go, Falkland (i'm in Dundee)?
What would you ask for? I mean obviously there is a lot to change...
Also, what is the final word on different sized Goodyears vs. Bridgestones on standard rims for the VX?

'98 Lotus Elise - Fun day car
'04 Maserati Coupe GT - Manual, v8, Italian...
'18 Mazda Mx5 - The wife's, so naturally my daily

I'm sure Falkland do geo set-ups. 340r fast road set-up is good but will increase tyre wear.
As for the last word on tyres
They are all good in different ways

Great information, thanks All.
It's the same problem - who knows what they're doing about when it comes to Geo.
Apparently Belmont Vauxhall made a total hash of a mates VX - I guess Ricky Gauld. Anyone else apart from Falkland - what about Murray Motors?
Cheers

CLCM in Edinburgh are who Murrays use and who many on here swear by. Willie is mega busy, only open at weekends by appintment and lacks a bit of bedside manner but he's cheap (£40 iirc) and he really knows his stuff. If you tell him what you want from the car (eg more steering feel) he'll just magically do it
On the tyre front i wouldnt mix compounds front to rear but then i'm anal like that.

Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

Footnote to this is I spent 40 mins inverted in the driver footwell with a socket set and spanners and found the steering column was loose. Tightened her up and steering feel is improved ENORMOUSLY! Cheers LD for the tip.
I could actually see the splined shaft moving in the lower clamp/bolt arangement. Odd beacuse it all still had the factory fresh look and judging by the green paint blobs hadn't backed off at all. Can only assume it hadn't been tightened sufficiently when it was put together at Hethel.
Cheers
