I kept all the bits that came off your car from Ventoux ... I suspect I could find the bits if anybody needed them :-)

Cheers,

Just an idea, Martin could collect that toe link from you after work Robin and bring it down? I don't have the time to collect it tomorrow between my car, Nizzy's and the other stuff I've to do.

I've forgotten to bring my phone to work this morning - whoever wants the bits should call 0131 558 7552 and I'll see what I can arrange.

Cheers,

Woodster - came past last night, but no sign of you mate. Didn't have the toe-link in any case. After a quick look and a waggle, it's in the bin. Too buggered to use - would not have felt confident that, even if you got it to fit, it would last the trip.

Sorry Martin, but really don't want to read about you visiting a hedge... :(

I'll be going to Ali's tonight if that helps with any couriering that needs done?

I take it though that the s1 toelinks won't work? I've got a full set in the garage not doing much just now :thumbsup

:beer :cheers to SE for another stunning display of generosity and helpfulness.

Going to go for a belt and braces approach and pick up the ex-mceann stuff and the ex-ddtb stuff and see what happens.

If anyone sees a man on a Buell looking lost in Edinburgh tonight then that's me :thumbsup

I've just found the outboard RHS toe joint that was servicable when I removed mine. Original spec. late steel hubbed S1 stuff. In comparison to the VX part it has approx a .6" longer thread, the shank is the same length but is .004" smaller in Dia. so is more of a rattling good fit.

0.1mm on the thread ? (I work in metric ;) ) I wouldn't worry about that. and can't you just saw the 15mm off ?

From Elise parts
NB* Some Mk1 Elises have aluminium rear hub uprights and require special longer joints.
Please check which type yours is before ordering. Use a magnet, if it sticks they are steel.

These fit all Elise variants/models apart from the very late S2's and the 111R/ Toyota powered car which use a tapered outer joint.

I'd say the S1 stuff will fit; I can't see a 4 thou difference being totally out of spec for that type of part, especially when it is held by the spacers at each end as the VX is and the excess threads can be cut off.

Eliseparts are also correct; the newer spec parts are the same length as the VX part (having checked it against my car with the latest S2 OEM parts), so I can't see steel hub S1 stuff eing an issue. The toe link I found had a spare .5" spacer on it anyway, so that explains the difference.
