I had a C1 loan car for a couple of months some time back and thought it was great pedal to the floor and lifting inside rear wheel everywhere and was still getting 40 mpg. Cheap and tinny but a hoot to drive. I also had a Yaris for a while and hated it -heavy, slow and not particularly frugal although no doubting it was well screwed together (which probably accounts for weight and poor mpg).
I also think the Corsa is a good drive and feels like a much bigger car than it is.
