I think you're supposed to unlock / remove key / remove cap rather than leave it in (though not sure it makes a huge amount of difference). Also i'd be worried that if you do forget, you've just walked into a shop, and joined a queue to pay whilst some scrote has noticed and your full tank of fuel (along with your Lotus) is half way down the road...!

I like Tut's leave on seat idea (no, not in that way!)

I tend to stick it on the sill pad if I have the window down, or on the soft top. Probably nt the best plan either tbh...

yeah ...its not the best idea of a petrol cap.....i should say i unlock cap and leave keys in cap and plonk on top of the pump unit in front of me then fill. once filled i can see cap in sight, plus i need keys to lock and swipe club card so don’t forget before going to shop...if there is someone in the pax seat i may just leave it on the side sil..etc.hasnt done me wrong so far :roll:

Would be nice if they had thought of a tether connection to the cap like our ford tbh.
