Don't tell me that! is the +2 bigger than that of the 997 ?
Sanj, can't answer that, as I wasn't studying that feature on my drive!! I am sure little Rueben would be able to fit in either for a few years to come!!

Sanj, as soon as his legs are long enough to bend over the seat then the leg room requirements are much less. The issue then is it's not a nice environment, it's very enclosed with limited visibility (Porsche and Evora), if he's ok travelling like that then I'm sure you'll get him behind the pax seat in either of those cars..

Quick tip for Evora owners, something I've only just discovered.

If you open the car door with your lights on and get the warning beep as usual, close the door. The lights stay on until you lock the car. Handy for lighting up the driveway etc

Found that out as well Justin, good for these dark nights.

Having owned my Evora for only a few short months, and been away most of that I am probably still in the honeymoon period but that said it is a very easy car to live with. The drive down to Norwich, across to Chester for the annual SE OP outing and back up the road to ABZ was one of the most enjoyable drives I have had in any car.
Build quality is better on the later cars but still not brilliant, but you forgive most of that because it is such a good driving car. Comfortable, stable, not bothered by questionable road surfaces, standing water and the like. Ok not the fastest thing on 4 wheels but certainly quick enough. Stands out from the crowd simply by virtue of it's rarity.
It is a little more awkward to get in and out of than a 911 but once you get used to it you hardly notice. However it is a much better drive than my C4 996 was.
So far so good for me, long may it continue.

Time for me to step into bat in defence of a great car.
Yes we all had problems which were all fixed under warranty by Craig and his team at Murray Motors. I have no experience of any other Lotus service departments but I do know that since Craig was appointed as Lotus service manager we have ALL been well looked after since that point. I don't have the same faith that his predecessor would have looked after our problems so well.
Anyway back to the car it is simply the best handling car I have ever driven, perhaps a little down on power and not as sharp acceleration as my Elise SC but my impression is that a dash across country, the Evora would be the better car. I had 3 Lotus cars to choose from in my garage and the one I drove the most was the Evora.
Sadly it and the Elise SC have now gone and selling them had absolutely nothing to do with the problems I had with the Evora, I just needed something a little bigger for the winter, hence the X5 box.
I will have another Evora one day and will be at the head of the queue when Lotus get round to producing a Cabrio version.
In my view must haves are the CR Box, Sports pack and sports exhaust.

If anyone is interested I still have the Sports Exhaust box and a set of standard Evora alloys shod with winter tyres for sale.

I have yet to hear a comment from an Evora owner who does not like the car :D

It goes to show that we are the lucky ones as there are a lot of doubters about the Evora. However I know that for me I am glad that I made the change and the rarity also makes it a lot more special.

Yes they are coming down in price on the 2nd hand market :( but a lot of people doubted the Europa and you have just to look at the residuals to see how good they keep their value. In my mind they are an excellent buy and although I have lost a lot more than I did on both my Elise's (over a longer ownership period as well) I reckon that in the right spec they will be losing very little compared to comparable machinery over the coming years.

George, if you compare the Evora residuals to the likes of a 997 or a GT-R they are all as bad as each other.

Almost every sports car seems to be taking a hit just now..

Completely agree - what I was trying to say is that if someone comes in around now and keeps their vehicle for 2-3 years then I expect the Evora will hit a residual bottom like the Europa has, therefore being a better long term bet than the 997 or GT-R as they will continually drop due to a large supply of vehicles.

A lot of people have indicated the Evora is over-priced (don't necessarily agree as I would not have bought it) but they have indicated that they are very keen to buy once the cars get into the low 30s etc.

When you can buy an S 2012 spec car that is barely run in for £49k, it has to be a consideration.
