yup, you'll need a front plate for the test. velcro should hold it on just long enough.......

You know that a velcro'ed on number plate isn't MOT passable?

Of course it would need to fall off or have it exposed for them to notice.

well, a wee update:

Fitted plate on friday, Cat on Friday night (cheers Mac & Stephen). After cat fitting, the noise at idle & under revs was awful and the hole in the flexi was blowing. Drove it up to loch lomond and the thing sounded terrible. cancelled MOT, going to have to wait until I get my new flexi & manifold.

Car cover going on tonight, declaring it SORN until I get the bits...

New favour required... Anyone got a drive/garage I can borrow until the parts arrive?

Lawrence, any chance I could use your lift once the parts do arrive to get them fitted?

I've got room if it helps but it is in Kilmarnock which may not be that useful. Drive or a (leaky and not in any way water proof) garage.

very kind chaps, car cover on at the mo, so hopefully no-one'll see the date on the disk. This is the one time I'm not too happy about living 200 yards from Lothian & Borders' HQ!

Seems some people are out there checking disks, not just via computer; theres a golf round the corner clamped for being 'untaxed'

I'll give the DVLA a buzz tomorrow and see what their advice is, I'm hoping for an off the record nudge that I'll be ok until the 14th...

Don't speak to the DVLA for goodness sake. That's you admitting that you know your in the wrong and alerting them to the fact.

Car's parked up - and your on a two week vacation out of the country - just happen to get back on the 13th or "hours before you arrived, officer. I'll have a disc first thing in the morning......"

They normally only kick out the sorns after 2 weeks - again it's because you can get it by post.

Your cat is now off my car and I can drop it off at your Edinburgh office on Wednesday.

Iâ€™m sure that Rich had a spare flexi which he offered me a shot of when I thought that might be a problem. It would at least get you through an MOT. Iâ€™d offer you mine but I canâ€™t get it off so it wouldnâ€™t be much good to you.

Goes without saying that you are welcome to park up at mine but the weege might not be the most useful place to have your car.

I also have ramps, more tools than I know how to use and a big hammer at my folks in Ayrshire if you are struggling with installation.
