using my mobile phone on 3g just now! Bt have come back and admitted that it there fault tonight and they want to send engineer out. However bt engineer only works 9to5 monday to friday which is a problem for me as i happen to work those hours! I also used to work with bt through the work in my previous job similar to dezzys. They were a law onto themselves! Think i'm going to wait until they fix the line then cancel!

You can bounce it about as much as you want, but for £9 a month I get unlimited free phone calls, including International, an 8mb connection, and 40gb download. Line rental is the same as BT at £11.

Skype costs as much as this for phone calls alone, and that is via the Internet, so what is the point?

Carphone Warehouse, ie TalkTalk just bought out AOL UK today, so although they have been overwhelmed by the take up, they are not likely to fold in the near future. I have had no problems at all with dropped connections etc, and just downloaded Vista RC1 at 240mbs/sec.

You have the option of taking their modem and setup at £30, or opting out and using your own.

I realise that they are not flavour of the month, but why pay two to three times as much for the same or separate packages?

I'm with BT and they are comically bad. I was one of the select few to get 8 meg as soon as it rolled out but in the last few months my connectio speed has dropped right off. Also although I pay as much as new customers, in fact more, I get none of the perks (free hardware, etc).

Pish. Will leave but inertia has kept me here...

well my broadband STILL isn't working after 5 weeks.

it's rediculous i've spend hours on the phone to these useless feckers now and still no progress at all. apparently an "engineer" has been out 5 times and FIXED the problem - strange how i've still never had even one second of broadband tho eh?

Not even going to mention Sky bband. Mate has it and can only use sky hardware and cannot edit the settings on the router.

Fantastic! BT agreed last night to send someone out to us on Monday... only thing is... i have just received a phone call from an engineer who is at my front door just now as the call centre has booked them out today instead of Monday... I'm in Leeds so there is fat chance of me giving him access from here! The engineer was a subby, so he is going to charge BT for the time, and I imagine BT are going to attempt to charge me! :thumbsdown

Was in phones4u today, gf was looing for a new mobile. Saw an ad for http://www.pipex.co.uk/ don't use them myself so can't comment, but a mate uses them and he gets me to fix all his IT woes, and he hasn't called me about connection troubles.

The pipemax package 8mb and unlimited DL for £14.99
