Caledonia in Abernethy for me,good value for full Prince Charlie, can't remember exactly when I bought it but £550 rings a bell....at the time it was around £100 for weekend hire.Subsequently added tweed jacket for daywear/funerals...around £100.
Recently had to get new back in my waistcoat,£30 as was about 3" away from closing!!
Kilt had to get "altered" as I was also on last hole in straps.Got a temp done for a family funeral and then job done correctly after, think that was £90.I've heard of guys getting longer straps put on the kilt but don't think it looks right and was told it doesn't wear well if altered like this.As far as I'm aware the correct way to get more space at the waist area is to get a pleat taken out which gives more material, not sure how far you can go with this though!!
I'm verging on having to get a new Prince Charlie jacket also so maybe exercise is the answer for me especially with my new motor.
Just thinking that might be off topic slightly...got carried away!!

We went to slaters today and they were great. Looking forward to getting it.

Thanks to all for the advice.

I've been renting them for years, 50 quid a pop. No cleaning bill.

But then I'm English so I'm still surprised and disappointed they repealed the "Dress Act".

Skaters have some nice jackets in, we all hired them for JJs wedding last January.

I tried on their grey tweed but needed something more Green to go with my kilt. What did you go for?

Can't remember the jacket style name (think it might be wallace) but it's a high button dark grey tweed with vintage buttons and matching high button waistcoat. We've both got the formal black jackets and i've got a green one that goes with my kilt so this gives a different option.
