Re: Zenos
I think this looks great and sounds promising. Hope Project E11 and E12 come to fruition too.

Zenos
I really like the idea of this, love the looks and the price too.
The LE car spec looks good to me, there are a few options that I would add such as the race cage and six point harnesses. Probably others too but I'd have to have a think about them. There is a windscreen and get you home roof option too.
There's a refundable £500 deposit for a LE car to book one of the 75 build slots.
So I figure there's little risk involved in placing an order. If they stay on the plan there will be an opportunity to drive one later this year, if you don't like it you can cancel your order and get your £500 back. If they go under and run off with your deposit it's not a huge amount to lose but I think this is unlikely.
The next payment is 50% of the total cost, payable four weeks before the build which should be sometime next year.
Hopefully there's some LE build slots left as I've just emailed them to arrange payment of the deposit

Good luck and looking forward to hearing about the opportunity of a forthcoming test drive and possible purchase.
Steve.

I similarly applaud your bravery sir. More than prepared to eat my words if it turns out to be an absolute gem.C7Steve wrote:j2 lot wrote:flyingscot68 wrote:Hopefully there's some LE build slots left as I've just emailed them to arrange payment of the deposit![]()

Re: Zenos
Just had Ansar Ali on the phone, so that's my order about to wing its way through the banking system and I've got myself a LE car on order.
He's talking about a drive for me when we're down at Hethel at the end of June on the Spazz trip, after which I can finalise the spec, delivery due in Q1 next year.
I'm of the opinion that this may slip so we'll see how it goes.
When I asked about a dealer in Scotland he told me something that will bring a few smiles to people on here, hope it happens, I'll be watching with interest.
I'm quite excited now!

Re: Zenos
Exited I bet! Congrats on a bold move. Can't wait to hear the press reviews of the car. You have to think that guys who used to work for Caterham and Lotus aren't going to let it out the door unless it goes and handles really well. Probably their next biggest challenge is making sure that the build quality is up to scratch so they don't get sunk by warranty claims. It will be fascinating to see how it turns out.flyingscot68 wrote:Just had Ansar Ali on the phone, so that's my order about to wing its way through the banking system and I've got myself a LE car on order.![]()

Incidentally I read recently that Caterham have gone back to the drawing board with the Aeroseven. Maybe after seeing the Zenos they realised that a fugly car based on an ancient welded spaceframe chassis just wasn't going to cut it

Re: Zenos
Looks like this could be an interesting year as the E10 is developed, if this email I got yesterday is anything to go by.
This has got to be a first surely??
Dear Kenny,
“Experience the Thrill of Belonging” ……………..so what on earth do we mean by this? When Mark and I started out on the Zenos journey our intention was to create a community dependent automotive company designing, assembling and retailing high performance and ultra-lightweight sports cars; all this courtesy of intelligent vehicle engineering, efficient material technology, the application of ‘form from function’ design and the adoption of a direct and intimate relationship with you, the customer (though you will be pleased to read not too intimate!) Imperative however was that these experiences went beyond simply sport car experiences, that is, a fast car that handles well. As far as we are concerned this is a given with any Zenos product. Equally we don’t mean out of body experiences either! If you have read this month’s EVO magazine, the 8 page feature written by Dickie Meaden is ‘warts and all’ – he had an insiders’ view of the E10 being prepared for Autosport International as he was determined to show his readers what it takes to launch a car company and unveil a show car in 18 months. A unique perspective and one we were equally keen to share with a wider audience.
And with regard to unique perspectives and Zenos experiences we would like to continue this theme by inviting you to observe the E10 being put through its paces in a wind tunnel at MIRA Technology Park, Watling Street, Nuneaton, Warwickshire CV10 0TU. The date in question is 20th February 2014 so not too far away. We have been allocated a 2 hour test slot from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on the 20th so to be perfectly frank the time will pass quite quickly. What you should see is the E10 in the tunnel as wisps of ‘smoke’ blow over it at high speeds and Mark and Chris look at lots of dials in the control room and pretend to know what is going on. Beyond this we cannot guarantee much of a spectacle, and indeed there is a risk that the event could be called off on the day for a variety of technical or other reasons. This is new product development testing for real, all par of the course.
We appreciate it is a working day and limited in time as a spectacle, but that said it is a unique insight into the world of automotive engineering and new product development. On the other hand you may just see the E10 covered in smoke and not much else! Anyway, we thought you may like to join us on the 20th and literally be part of the E10’s test regime – just imagine the (tall) stories you can recount at subsequent dinner parties!
Unfortunately we can only accommodate 5 guests on the day so it will be on a first come first served basis. If you would like to join us then please reply to me and the first 5 acceptances in my inbox will be accepted and advised by return. If you do not hear from me then I am afraid you were #6 or beyond! I myself will not be there on the day in question as I am taking my family away for half-term (no chance them taking me away!) so you will be in the capable hands of Mark and Chris on the day. If you do go I hope you enjoy it.
Kind regards,
Ansar

Really like that, well done on the order Kenny, look forward to hearing what it's like to drive. Looks great. And you could change the colour every month if you wanted by spraying the panels, keep it interesting!
