This is the only offer I was aware of that MMC would give.

Small statement from Bill, Servicing Manager at MMC.

Sorry for taking so long too get back to you.

We at the Murray Motor company would be happy for the opportunity do set something up for the Scottish Elise group.

May be we could get together some time soon for a chat to see what we can do with members discounts and owner support etc.

I will give you a call over the next few days to see if you can spare an hour or so
.

I should have some further news within the next week.

Good work Del, see if they'll include rear dampers in any discount scheme too.

I met up with Bill Young, Servicing Manager at Murray Motor Co.(MMC), earlier today to discuss building a working relationship between themselves and Scottish Elise’s.

We both agreed that to create this relationship there would be a bit of giving and taking, on both sides. Murray Motors are prepared to offer us discounts and extra services such as private Lotus inspections.

They are also aware that complaints need to be addressed in a professional manner. They have members of staff that browse the SE forum and Bill is made aware of certain problems and would like to get away from this negative type of advertising. They realise that mistakes can happen and would like to be given the opportunity to help SE members overcome any issues and problems they have.

We shall be setting up a complaints procedure. We will be able to report to another member of MMC if we are receiving unsatisfactory service or from anyone in particular. These members of MMC shall be notified shortly. This should be suffice to get problems of all types rectified. If we are still having issues after a certain period of time, I will be able to relate these to Bill directly on a regular basis as we have agreed to meet up once a month to discuss these arrangements.

On a positive note, MMC are quite prepared to offer discounts to members with all the following types of Lotus Elise, Exige and 340R. Bill is also keen to promote offers as well as discounts and will notify me when these become available. He is currently working on the discounts which will take in tyres, shocks, brakes, accessories and servicing. To qualify for these discounts we have agreed that a person must have been with SE for at least 6 months, they give MMC at least one week of notice to order specific parts and that they quote an SE membership number. I shall be asking people for certain details and allocate them a number. This list will then be passed to MMC to confirm membership. A web link will be provided to show the most up to date prices and offers from MMC.

On top of the discounts Bill will be organising two visits a year for Lotus staff to come to the dealership. The idea being that we, on a limited turnout, can have our cars inspected by Lotus personnel and have a general chit-chat with them. MMC are also happy to provide refreshments and sandwiches during these private sessions.

The results of this should create more positive experiences and attitudes towards Murray Motors.

Superb effort! I doubt very much if Bill's expertise or candour has ever been called into question on these boards - he has always been the epitome of good service everytime I had any problem or query and thought that was worth pointing out.

It will be interesting to see what deals are on offer for servicing. Obviously it will be more expensive than independant garages - such is the way of the world - but it would be nice for everyone concerned (MMC for repeat business, new owners to keep their FLSH) if some work could be done there.

Fingers crossed this paves the way for a better relationship between S_E and MMC - Del, a big pat on the back for you for getting as far as you have.

Bravo!

Why not use our position numbers in the memberlist. Date joined obviously.

That way you would be able to tell cut off for time "served"

I am trying to organise another meeting with MMC for next week some time.

Good suggestion using your position within SE2 member list for MMC reference!

I shall have more time to spend on this tomorrow and will post up more details, assuming Bill is available, next week.

If your on SE1 then it's a fairly safe bet that you've been around longer than 6 months
