Take the opportunity to stick in one of Geary's slightly lighter but certainly less bulky sports cats. Robin put one on the Shed, "just because it needed a Cat basically" IIRC. I'll be doing likewise if / when mine ever gives out. Which can't be far off.

when cats were first introduced there were stories along these lines but teh problem was/is that there is a risk of fire on hot, dry days if you park the car over something dry and flammable. Like grass.
i don't know if it is in the Lotus manual but you see it in a lot of car manuals...

There were stories of highly tuned Elises / Exiges catching fire, due to excessive unburnt fuel getting to the cat then ingniting therein due to its high operating temps.
IIRC.
Someone more knowledgeable may, of course, be along to correct me in a minute.

I have to say that that's what I've heard as well.
Any old excuse for me flameouts... (which are much less spectacular on the VVC than me old 285H cams
