Lawrence

Just received this from David Baker, and have enclosed my reply.

That is the end of it as far as I am concerned

"David

That is neither true nor fair. When I entered the Championships in 2005, regardless of the fact that my car had a Honda engine, it was eligible under the MSA regulations for Class A8. I did not exploit any “anomalous loopholeâ€

Hi Tut/Ali, JohnS here :D Been a while, not posted on SE since it was a Yahoo Group !!!

I'm afraid Stan simply had the wrong time in his Spreadsheet at the weekend. Tut's 91.21 stands as the record as far as EACC are concerned (or at least it did till abour 3pm on Sunday).
Tut, not sure why you think DB or for that matter George Ritchie have influence in any records or goings on at Kames/EACC ?

Moot point now anyway as the Record is now Graemes at 90.56

What exactly is DB's position these days John?

BTW most of the guys here won't know that you are very involved with Kames and East Ayrshire and perhaps some of us would like to try our hands at a run round Kames one weekend.

Is there anyway this can be set up for us?

Hi Lawrence. DB has no direct connection with EACC, though does a sterling job as CoC for EACC as well as many other clubs.
I actually stood down from the chair at AGM (new family type priorities).

As to using Kames, EACC Track insurance limits the use to EACC members, however there should be regular track days running this year, the first is on the 29th (so clashes with Forrestburn). Joining and paying for the 1st day would total £45, and £25 per day there after, cars are limited to twenty odd so plenty of time on the track.

How do you figure nutter ? I've a Tonne of Saloon car wraped round me, you're hurtling up Doune strapped to a shopping trolley ;)

See you on Saturday :D

Martin, enter your car in the approriate class then, the regs cover all posibilities !!
My car is a Subaru, and it could possibly be classified as Sporty, but Subaru are no more a reconised Marque Sports car manufacurer than Vauxhall or Mazda. My car has 4 doors, some have two, The RX7 has two doors and 4 seats, yours has two of each, It's a difficult thing trying to please every one, god knows !!!! I don't envy DB for having to police a championship, but there is no need to be taking this personally.

There is obviously some water under the bridge here that I don't know about, and I have no intention of taking sides, I know and have/do enjoy/ed the company of both David and David, in that order ;)

Your car will fit in a class, whether it's the class you want to be in or not !!

P.S. I'm supposed to be sleeping, Doune tomorrow

Still reckon my 94.00 was alright for a totaly standard S2  That Day Tut and I spent all day trying to lower our times and both ended the day exactly equal on 94.00, though of course his car was not standard. However I had a bit more Kames laps under my belt. I just loved that track and they even used to block me off it during SIDC meets if I had been out for too long.
