F**k the neighbours , I know I would appreciate a nice exhaust first thing in the morning .
My neighbours moving as say's he'll miss the sound of the 160 in the morning.

well, who wouldn't :D

IMO, there's no point sound proofing, with the elise chassis sounds will just resonate around anyway.

just checked the car out and the dampers are yellow so i m assuming its standard?

I was checking out the noises from the car and i m loving the janspeed exhaust (although neighbours arent!) and noticed there are no suspicious noises as lotus confirmed... I have now just relised that all the annoying noises are coming from the hardtop!!! ok so what to i do?! Is the KY actually going to work? is there anything else? or do i just take Simon's advice and put the hard top away?! (although i do like the hardtop!) - dilemma!!

Its a handbuilt British car.....it will break and make funny noises......you just need to get used to it.......sorry!

Sounds like Bilstens- the stickers are usually pretty easy to spot...

The rattles, squeaks and fiddly bits are called character. (believe this and you'll save much time and hair loss) Lotus spend great amounts of development time on such things.

After a few more weeks/good roads you won't care about any of it. It will never be as civilised as your other motors whatever you do, but that's all part of the fun.

I think the hard-tops look great too, but most people here will raise eyebrows and mutter about gheyness :).
I hankered after one initially, but have come round to the view that there's no better feeling than the wind in your hair and a gallon of water down the back of your shirt TBH :D

PS
re hardtop.....
If forecast is for heavy rain......hardtop goes on!
If its winter......hardtop stays on.
The rest of the time......soft-top or topless!
