Anyone wanting to demo the Archos in car kit at Hot Marques?

Andy,

I've had half an eye on the Sony TG3 HD. How does this compare to the Archos kit and what's the difference in cost?

Cheers

Andy's away for the weekend now.

TG3 is a stunning bit of kit, but it's not a bullet cam, so it's like comparing apples to balljoints. Small and easy enough to mount on a roll bar, but you'd not want to hang it out of the car really, for fear of damaging it. If a stone hits a bullet cam, worst case it's £80 to replace, where you'd have to change the whole camera with the TG3. Both are on the site, if you're interested - http://www.amp3.co.uk

Look forward to meeting you.

Could be up for this and another one interested in the Archos kit :thumbsup

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

I'm planning on coming along on Sat to meet folks... try put some faces to the (at times, somewhat random) names we get on here.

Andy/Shug, will the bullet cam work with the 705? I picked one of them up a couple of months ago and am well pleased with its use so far... a camera addition would be the next thing.

Also, anyway from Falkirk area going on Sat? I was planning on driving up myself but if I can blag a PAX in someones Lotus that would be sweet.

Cheers,

Tony

Tony, I'm planning on heading up from Linlithgow, not on track this time but would be happy to go up with you if you fancy?

Hey Clarkie

TG3 is about £550, but records in high def - one sweet bit of kit, and as you will most likely use it in car, unlike me, you shouldn't have to worry about stone chips etc.

Way better for playing back on a TV.

The Archos is easy to use and ideal for getting the footage online.

Will bring both :thumbsup

Cheers guys... unfortunately, I'm now not sure when (or even if) I'll make it. If I do, I'm sure I'll be able to spot you both easily enough so I'll come and introduce myself.
