Presume that i will hear from my Solicitor this afternoon, but the way it has gone so far who knows.

The Hospital called me this afternoon for a phone assessment before I go in, which lasted for 90 mins.

Unfortunately Laura called me at the same time to let me know what had happened in Court, but when I called back the office was closed, so will not know until tomorrow.

Just read the post hoping to hear that you got a lenient sentencing.

After the update I hope everything goes ok on both counts.

Just learnt what happened. They accepted my Doctor's letter saying that I was not be able to attend yesterday, but they are insisting that if I do not appear at some stage, then I would be found guilty of dangerous driving with an automatic year ban minimum and an extended re-test.

They have set another hearing for the 15th that would be pointless attending anyway as it is not a trial as such, so we have come to an agreement. I will send in another letter from my doctor which they will accept for none appearance, but as I will be going into hospital shortly, they will set a date for the Diet Trial in November which I will be attending and for which they will bring in their police officers. We will plead not guilty to dangerous driving, but to either careless or speeding, they do not seem sure themselves whether there are two options or one. That is the only hope we have for a reduced sentence.

Verian has just left for Dubai for three weeks to stay with Clare, but will be home on October 22nd and will be able to take me there for an overnight stay before the day of the trial. With the stomach and chest pains that I am getting at present, together with the side effects of tiredness and lack of concentration from the medication, I could not safely or comfortable drive a five hour trip anyway.

It does give me more time with my licence though, especially with Verian away, but it will be only for local trips in the estate car to walk the dogs, doctors or hospital visits, and any shopping needed.

At least it looks like it is going to be less than a years ban as long as you turn up, but it does look like they want you there to subject you to their wrath

Don't actually blame them as it was excessive speed for whatever reason I put forward. Just not happy with the way that they have fcuked it up along the way considering that I pleaded guilty from the outset six months ago.

Quite naturally we are just trying to get it downgraded from dangerous driving which it was not, bottom line is that I was caught out driving too fast. QED.
