Get the Porker on

The last black GT3 996 I seen taken round kames had Colin McRae at the wheel.
No problem with car sharing, though the price is per person.
I'm supposed to be working until 11 the night before

Should get out of that ok though

Definitely going to make this the Exige's first trackday

Don't have a helmet though . . . can I borrow one?
Cheque will be in the post before the end of the week Woody. Thanks for organising mate!

Dezzy, the club don't have helmets for borrowing or hire, I'm sure we can work something around sharing.

Dezzy in sharing sweaty helmet shocker

Sounds like as good a reason to buy one for the forthcoming trackday season as any

You can pick em up for as little as £35 mate. Like brakes, not something I'm happy to skimp on though

Yup - forego your latest Macbook (I know you'll be foaming about the Air) and get a bonce-potty instead. Good investment to avoid nasty niffs on trackdays....

I agree about not skimping in the helmet costs, and that's why I can't really afford one just now. Impending mortgage and need every penny towards that. Will see if I can maybe get one for around £100 before this though. Those ones at £99.99 advertised on the homepage of that website look alright.

I bought a pair of unused ones from Skeggsy on eBay for £35.
I would not even wear one on track if I did not have to, it does not help my neck, so got the lightest ones I could.
Last part of my body that I need to worry about is ma heid, and after writing off the original N1 TUT on the road, I can not imagine doing anything worse on track.

ps regardless of the above, my advice would still be to get a good helmet, but if it complies with BS6658, no need to spend a fortune.

If you intend to track your car often, its a good idea to get the best helmet you can afford. I have a full face carbon fibre one which is very light and strong.
