Isn't that red one Danny Bahar's (sp?) one?

Doesn't look great if he is selling it already!

I see that the Maser GT does ... Not that I've been looking ...

You Lotus Fanbois!

Still wouldn't spend £50k on a Evora.

Running costs would be in a different league surely ?
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

A mate of mine has a GT-R and just had a minor service for £275, so comparable to Evora. Cheap but its the tyres that cost the most £2-£2.5k for a full set if I remember correctly.

G, the point is that you don't have to spend £50k on an Evora, subtract £10k and the £800-a-set of OEM rear tyres. I'd like to see a 997 GT3 in the £40k price range! (By the by .. I have also checked and you can add rear seatbelts to a GT3 so that you can slot in a belt-secured car seat  ) Sad to say but the forum view on the turbo is bland, and we all know how much the GTR monsters fuel and .. everything else!

911's are everywhere in Aberdeen. GT3 is quite special, but the GTR is actually quite dull to drive. Fast yes, exciting no. I drove one the morning before driving the Evora.

Think an R8 would get my money.

There's always talk on Porsche forums about insurance implications as GT3 classed as 2 seater (and it's not really a GT3 with recliners and no cage :P )
R8 for me too

I wouldn't touch an R8 with a barge pole.. oh, hang on a minute.. Doh!

Obviously I love mine. They are dropping again in price, just watch the spec as there are a few bad option ones out there.

Bad side of the R8 is probably fuel and fairly bland looks when compared to some of the other cars. Having said that, they are still rare, great to drive, very reliable (ignore my gearbox issue, it was a dealer problem more than anything) and very well put together.

I was originally going to buy an Evora but at full price it was hard to ignore the R8. Having said that, I still double take at Evoras and having seen it evolve into the much improved 2012 model, I still think it's an itch I may have to scratch at some point. I if you compared and R8 to an Evora from the same year, then obviously the Evora should be a much cheaper car to buy and run so not exactly comparing apples with apples..

Gareth
You are pushing against sand in this forum , but I support your sentiment
The Evora is a fab car but I would struggle to pay the asking price
The fit and finish is below par but the handling is sublime
The photo that Tut posted.....I am liking the red one very much!
Will wait for a three year old Evora at £22k ( hopefully with a bit of warranty)
The Man from CAP seems to support this strategy

GT3 prices will weather the current economic climate a lot better, especially with your cooking Carreras at over £80k nowadays

Seasons Greetings to all my readers.....and to any SAAB owners who have seen their cars drop lower than a snake's belly

:cheers

You really think they will drop that far in less than 3 years  Don't see it myself but it puts ownership into reach of many more people if they do. I reckon they will bottom out at high 20's then stabalise.
