The video above is also an excellent demonstration of why walshy won't teach you any of these techniques until he has convinced himself you are able to use rotational steering. The chap clearly has NO IDEA where his front wheels are pointing once he has been lucky enough to balance the slide on the grass. He simply spins the wheel in the direction he would prefer the car to go and when it reconnects with the tarmac he is lucky not to simply spin it right round the other way.

To his credit he does reach the end of the rack quickly :-)

I do hope the Honda S2000 boys appreciate just how lucky they were as there have been loads of big crashes and a few deaths doing exactly what they did. Lucky lucky barstewards.

The LFB spin save is almost uncanny when you first do it especially when you've completely lost the rear of the car and run out of steering lock. And as Neal says Walshy teaches you to lock the fronts. I've only ever done it in the controlled environment of North Weald and in the pissing rain which was the perfect way to learn. Whether or not I'd be able to do when I needed to rather than trying to do it intentionally is another matter. I suspect not.
