I really do not think that their is a division anymore, certainly not from the SE1 side.

Nearly all the founder members now post on here, Robin, Campbell, Del, Lawrence, Kelvin, so I think we are quite happy to let things run their course.

I can only think of one notable omission from SE2.

Since all the SE1'rs are rolling back the years I thought I would too. What's the point of having a bandwagon if your not going to jump on it.

I was a fairly late addition to SE2 - I think I joined just before it boomed and upto that point (and still) have all my SE1 stuff delivered to my mailbox.

I still hanker for the SE1 format by day (an e-mail isn't going to get noticed by the boss - loggin in here does) but generally prefer the BBS format when I get home - If there is a way to merge the two together I know SimonI will be the man to do it.

As for runs etc. I noticed last year (2005) had a series lack of the improptu F&C type runs - which is why I've tried to sort out some Duke Pass events, mainly with little notice due to the changable weather - it ain't that much fun eating in the rain. I've also tried to promote SE2 and it's activities as a "family" event, and I think it's working - we now have Neil & Mags as a regular couple (in the loosest sense possible) where as before it was only Mandy & I. The Dukes Pass runs are becoming more and more sociable with partners coming to most events now.

If you look at the demographics for SE now you'll see that we have more sub 30 members than ever before. I joined in the spring of 2002 having been a member of the OLC and at that time I was one of the youngest at 28. The youngest now must be close on 21 IIRC.

PS: Tut - get harnesses and a hans device for your helmet and go show that ginger headed whippersnapper how it's done.

Hard to believe how long you have been with us, 16th December 2001 you took ownership of your baby, one of the old boys now.

Indeed it was.

Had a few teething problems logging into SE at the time (firewall issues) which meant I missed the TT of 2001 - work preventing me from the subsquent one since until this year.

Still remember getting the nod about SE from either yourself or IDW on the OLC.

Five years and counting - and now a two elise family.

That about says it all.

Stu's post prompted me to look out my photos from that trip and I have now published them at

http://web.mac.com/skyeweb/iWeb/Site/SE ... h%202.html

and it dosn't stop there  I carried on and have published a wide selecstion of photos covering many aspects of Lotus ownership and in particular membership of Scottish Elises.

I have many great memories (and some not so great) from my Elise ownership. My first road run with Scottish Elises started with me introducing myself from a ditch to some helpfull SE members as they helped me get my Elise back on the road about 100 yards short of the initial meeting point  The first time most of them had even seen an S2 8)

Links on the above achmelvich site will take you to

Achmelvich Trips
Tut & Mexi Towers Meets
Knockhill, Crail and Kames Track Days
Road Runs including Dukes Pass
SIDC IOM Manx Birthday Bash
and some general photos including TSE, Forrestburn and Doune

I am sure these will bring back many memories and hopefully give newer members a taste of what they can get invloved in.
