Think I'll skip the EK traffic and head down the M74.

See you there

Me and Philthy left early, and I am glad we did- we had to sit at 40mph all the way back to Glasgow, the motorway was so waterlogged - someone in a Volvo passed us, then binned it into the central reservation and stopped in the outside lane, so it was a bit dodgy.

Was reasonably fun until the thunder and lightning, and steam / rubbish wipers / leaks started

I left early to with Rob following me. Loads of water on the road and the windows steeming up lead to misssing a sheep on the road by centimetres

Was much better at Kames once you'd left (weather wise, not because you'd left  ) and the track fairly dried out again. Another good fun night, despite Martin's best attempts, and despite the rain; once the on track rivers had cleared, there was still plenty of grip.

Glad I wasn't going to Glasgow in the 7 though :damnfunny

Yes a good night - only in the gravel once and thankfully woody's car - sorry woody but i still maintain it was brakes 90% and lack of talent 10%. :D

Run home wasn't too bad until we got into glasgow at which point jon and cathy started to slow somewhat as the road became more like a river.

It also highlighted that i need a new wiper

Another great event at Kames, hadn't planned on going on track but a space appeared (better luck next time Dave :thumbsup ) and John coerced me into going on! Conditions were "interesting" at times, with rivers on the track and a huge puddle right in the braking zone for the hairpin, but good fun all the same.

Glad I had a car with a roof and a heater for the return journey

Yep pishin' doon, thunder and lightning provided an intersesting background, track had plenty of grip in the wet apart from the bits that were flooded :D Top banter as always, lmao at the converstion between Woody and Martin following Woody driving Martins car.

Mr Donkey: What did you rev it to?

Woody: Till it stop revving.

Mr Donkey;

No, I did that because your car has the rev limit of a tractor.

BTW Martin, the 160 peaks at 7000 revs

Vx doesn't need to rev that high as, like a tractor, it has a thing called torque

Oh and peaks at 7,000 RPM and explodes at 7,001 RPM :D

The 135R felt as torquey :finger

and the 160 seems to have a dynamic limit 7200 - 7400ish usually.... unless it knows your driving and then its 6000.

As I’ve not figured out a way to make the next booking for Kames on June 21st fair and people have been throwing fistfuls of money at me to get a place, I’ll be taking bookings at Knockhill tomorrow (Friday 6th June) and later at Andy’s place. The day costs £30 a head for EACC members, non members will be an additional £20 for membership (payable on the day). After Kames tonight, there are about 10 places left; once these are full I will take names for reserves. It’ll be first come first served; I don’t imagine the places will last long.

Had a great time at Kames again :D Weather was interesting! But didn't dampen the spirits. Good banter and great driving fun.

Thought tonight was quite educational and let me test the grip limits of the car a bit in a controlled environment. Only wandered across the outside kerb of the hairpin a couple of times! The track was surprisingly grippy even when wet - only thing that scared me was the puddle on approach to the hairpin.

Thanks for the pax lap Jon :thumbsup That's a great wee car and I enjoyed our extended trip around the track due to going straight on at the hairpin ;) :D

Harnesses made some difference tonight! So glad I got them. And, no, before you ask, we were not timing, so I don't know which one of us two was the fastest! :P
