Starting to really p!ss me off now...

My tax disc is in the sorting office somewhere (recorded delivery but missed it)

Guy laughed at me this morning when i asked if it was ready for collection - as it says the 10th on the back of the card...

"You'd be lucky if you had that this month mateeeeee"

Like wise , I am waiting on an item which wil boost my pay at work and wanting to send some stuff .

They have to modernise or it will all go to the private sector and they will all be fcuk .

I dont know the full issues of their dispute but what sympathy I had is drying up rapidly.

Fire them all and let the private sector take over with decent competition.

25 mins I had to stand in a queue at a post office last week and there were only 2 people in front of me. The woman at the front was arguing that 78p was too much to send her parcel ffs !!!!

Skiving barsteward the lot of them!

Yea dont think they have worked out that every time RM strikes they drive more and more buisness away from them ~meaning that RM needs to make more changes or cut's ~ read somewhere that now 21% of the mail is carried by other carriers don't know if thats true but guess its possible

Poor old dear probabably remembered the penny post I'd have waited 5 mins then paid the 78p for the silly moo, some of us have work to do and cant stand around all day argueing in post offices ~

I hope if I get like that when I'm older the kids will do the decent thing

I was told by someone in our work that it is because they are getting made to actually do their jobs property...

I.e - 7 hour shift - do your work in 4 hours you can go home but still get paid up to the 7 hours... Now RM have said if yyou finish your work in 4 hours you need to find other work for the next 3 hours...

RM staff werent happy - demanded a massive pay rise if this was the case - RM offered them 2.5% and got knocked back..

And the saga continues.... Bunch of total &$%*£"

Problem comes that the none profitable routes would loose all service which would be a massive blow to a small community.

Problem is that the systems are anchient and resistant to any change, militant unions don't help either, that only works if you have a monopoly (Fire service for example!) even then it just speeds privatisation.

Saw in the news some of them were still on strike this morning, now they need sacking....

"Turn up to work tomorrow as agreed by your union or we sack you" seems reasonable enough.

I think all shops, bars, restaurants etc should refuse to serve any postal staff.... see how they like it

(only prob being that postal workers are not always easily identified)

The royal mail deserves to go to the wall for this.. and the result is that many retailers including myself are not hanging around for it to happen. It's damaging to our reputations and I (as one of many in the mail order business) will no longer be dependent in any way on the royal mail in the very near future. (next week..)

Keep going on strike! The more you do it ,the quicker you'll all disapear and something better (hopefully..) will come in your place.

its one of these issues its difficult not to get political about. Striking does seem slightly misconceived on the basis that there have been moves afoot to allow other carriers to deliver mail. Sum total of a strike, the other carriers are preferred, royal mail goes bust, and those posties strikinig for the extra 2/3k p.a. (sorry, not sure what the exact figures are) then end up out of a job

Have to agree with the conscensus on this one. At work we've had to put off animals' treatment cause samples wouldn't get to the lab. Needless to say not many clients are happy to pay an extra £30 for DHL to ferry the stuff to edinburgh (and my boss won't pay me to take the stuff over in the Lotus!). Also my dog's chemo for lymphoma is being compromised due to not being able to check her bloods. From speaking to clients we're not the only one's losing patience!

Leading on from the comment above in relation to doing a 4 hour delivery run while being paid for an 8 hour shift, if they then go back to the depot and work the remaining 4 hours they get paid overtime!!!!!! (at least that was portrayed as the current situation on last nights news)
