BAck again, wanting Exige

Post by Chas » Sun Oct 28, 2007 1:21 pm

MMmmm sold Elise S1 last year and managed to last this length of time with another.
Now looking to get a 04/05 plate S2 Exige. Need the fun back again.

Would love to go on some trips as i'm based in Perth so easy to meet as central to Edinburgh, Glasgow and some of the best roads in the UK ;-)

Question:-
Does all newer Exiges' have the ability to have the roof off. Most pictures show on, some off but all have lines where it could lift off.

All Exiges can be converted to soft tops.... And i think all S2s can get the roof off quite easilly?

Someone more technical will surely correct me

You can get the hardtop off the S2 exige quite easily (I think it's the same process as getting the hardtop off an Elise), and you can get a soft-top kit if it's something you intend to do regularly...

What happens to the Supercharger if the roof is off? I thought the scoop collected air to cool the engine?

I maybe way off the mark.

From what I read, there is a small possibility that you lose a little bit of power with the top off as the cooling may not be as effective.... although I'm sure there was some guy in America that did some temperature tests on runs and it was actually better with the top off.... not sure if they had done the dremmel alteration to remove the lip on the intake or not.

I was advised that in a non supercharged Exige the roof air in take didnt do anything however in the s/c version it was a different story.

Must take my roof off some time faction.

Wooo Hooooooo
Finaly found the one i wanted. Exige S2 with Touring kit etc. Only 3300miles on clock from new and is still absolutely minted.
Was on Pistonheads in Luton, so a quick Easyjet down, part with the folding and then
......> 100miles superb.
......> 150miles stop for a rest n fill up
......> 200miles Backs twitching, but its great
......> 300miles Ooooh this is painful. 2 Nurafen should help
......> 405miles I climb out in agony... but you just gotta love it !!!

Roll on the summer.

My son sitting in it at Camperdown in Dundee. Just loves the noise of the Stage1 and 2nd Cam, i'm gonna get nicked trying to 'make it go woosh again'.

It looks like mine, what with the leaves and grass on the side. Oh, yours is a reflection. Nice.
