rubber fetish

Post by mainsy » Thu Dec 06, 2007 6:06 pm

im spendin too much time searching for tyres online, my birds thinks im turning into a tyre perv.

any hoo after lookin im still none the wiser, seems people are divided in the best tyre choice.
when i bought the car it was fitted with 225/45/16 "infinity" tyres which are pish, virtually no grip in the wet, which being new to rear wheel drive is quite frightening.
im looking for fast road tyes which wont cost the earth.
are p zero's any good, i think they came as standard?

Mckean has some A048's in your size and a really good price - you can't get better tyres than that - see classifieds.

Another vote for the Advan Neovas....

Had value-for-money spec BFGs before the Advans and thought they were decent enough at the time.... imho the Advans are much better and I feel a lot more confident driving the car on & off track with them....

they're not that much more and they look soooo much cooler tooo.

T1-R's . . . perfect cost / performance trade off for a winter tyre . . . you'll get a full set for 220 ish and at this time of year you cannot beat them where it counts, wet weather grip . . .

I've run about 4 sets of S1 advan neova LTS's and they are marginally better, but nothing like twice as good as the price would suggest . . . I'm on my second set of T1-R's after a set of T1-S's and I really don't think they are bad at all . . .
