Door Entry System at the Flat

Post by johnboy_78 » Sat Aug 16, 2008 3:18 pm

Hi guys,

I've got a wee problem with the door entry system at our flat. It wasn't working at all when I first moved in and have since arranged for someone to come out and fix the buzzer system which now works fine. However, the timer that controls the service access (for the post man) isn't working and needs replaced. Does anyone know where I would get hold of a replacement timer? It is getting power to it ok, just looks as if the timer is old and has given up the ghost.

I'm particularly keen to try and sort it this weekend because the post man should have some important paperwork for me to sign ahead of next weekend, when I pick up my new car (the VX has moved on after 3 fabulous years). I'm now the proud owner of an Alpina Roadster S! Perhaps not quite fitting with the lighter is better ethos of the forum, but I do hope to hang about (if allowed....) and keep up with the goings on on the forum.

Cheers,

John

If it's like our old one any 240vac timer will do, pick up one for about 24quid at a heating suppliers. They are the same as the ones that fit on heating systems. Best getting the ones with little switches around a 24hr clock for setting the times. Ferroli boilers use them if that helps

You get 24v ones but doubt it would be that.
