For a bit of fun...with a serious angle...how about we have a straw poll on this.

i took the something else option, i already have full sky package including sports, so no need to upgrade. would you rather i pick option 4 to keep the numbers together ??

I like what eurosport do with the moto GP compared to the BBC, so i'm well up for a change, lets see what they can do with the extra money.

Option 3, to a point. I'm thinking researching how to get other countries freeview/sat channels over here and using the radio5 commentry (assuming it's close to in sync)

Of course, my plan may be heavily flawed.

I went for, "the best that the BBC can offer." Thought about the feeds thing, but I upgraded this year to HD, and a big part of that reason was F1.

Sky will not be getting any money from me. For the annual subscription amount, I could go and see one live, and I might just do that.

Make do with the BBC and watch the Sky ones via one of the streaming websites. Some of the feeds can be very high quality, some can be crap and not worth the effort however.

To be honest I have always felt that it takes up too much of my time at the weekends as it is and I try and watch what I can when I can, now that the coverage has been reduced I will probably watch very little if any of it and go and do something. I have always fancied doing a bit of hill walking so I will use this as an excuse to get off my flabby arse.

I already pay Sky £74 pcm, for most channels except Kids, Music and Sports, HD and a basic telephone package. To pay almost £100 per month plus license fee for television is absurd so I won't be upgrading my package to include sports and at an extra £20 pcm just for F1. I can't justify it. I'l just have to make do with BBC. However, as Sky is a very successful business and are no doubt already looking at the public outcry and thinking we need to turn this around, I can see them introducing various 'deals' to entice more sky sports viewers. If they had a deal on for half price sports or 3 months free, I would probably take it. As it stands though, I feel an extra £240 per year for F1 is way too much. I'd rather put that towards attending one.

jen is £20 of that not for your phone line rental? seems a lot of money considering you have half the channels?

I already have sky sports for the football and the coverage is light years ahead of anything terrestrial TV puts out.

Saying that if I didn't already have it I wouldn't be adding it just for the F1 - hooky internet feed would have been my choice for the live stuff and then the BBC highlight show.

Around £12 is line rental, works out slightly cheaper than BT. On top of that I only pay for call made during the day, midweek, which is never made as we're at work anyway and I mostly use my mobile while I'm off.

We have more than 2/3 of the channels. Still pay for variety, knowledge, style and culture, news and events and movies.

Sorry Neil. It was late. No agenda on what option anyone picks! Like I said, just a bit of fun...but answers are already interesting...
