Where's best to paint & fit new rear clam

Post by GBSGR5 » Wed Feb 13, 2013 8:40 pm

So I was on my way home from work last week when the queue of traffic I was in slowed down and then stopped at some traffic lights, all that is except the woman behind me in the Mercedes ML. Her "foot slipped off the brake" and she went into the back of my S2 Elise at a couple of mph. She admitted liability and both insurance companies are satisfied she was at fault, so now I just need to get the car fixed.

As I live near Aberdeen I was recommended Kinghorn Bodyshop so went to see them on Saturday. The estimator couldn't have been less interested or more arrogant if he tried, and immediately told me I needed a new rear clam and they were the only place in the area capable of doing it. He hasn't bothered providing me a quote yet despite me calling twice to chase it up, and in all honesty I'd be quite happy for someone else to get the business.

So my question is - Where's the best place for me to go to get a new rear clam painted and fitted? I'm not fussed about having to travel to get it done, I just want it done properly and by someone who cares about what they're doing. I have another car I can use whilst the Elise is off the road so I can wait whilst it's done properly.

Any recommendations ?

There has just been a thread on this, so this is the preferred choice.
