Fastest BMW diesel.

Post by tut » Fri Oct 25, 2013 4:05 pm

The 420d is powered by the same 181bhp, 2.0-litre turbodiesel as the 320d. It makes peak power at 4000rpm and hits 280lb ft between 1750-2750rpm. BMW claims a 7.5sec 0-62mph time and a top speed of 194mph.

Yes, 149mph. The other way to tell it was a typo is BMW are one of the German makes that limit cars to 155 mph both physically and in marketing literature.

Haha

Anyways, can't imagine any vehicle with sufficient power to achieve near 200mph could take as long as 7.5secs to reach 60 :blackeye

i had the 535 diesel(3litre twin turbo). despite its grunt its a totally forgettable motor. i got bored of the racket in less than a year. didnt ever crack 30mpg either. prior to that i had a 3litre NA straight 6 petrol. no where near the grunt but had real soul and not far off the mpg of the diesel

Get real, people only buy dismal cars because of pikeyness and fuel bill anxiety.

Nobody by choice who has any interest in cars would choose a dismal over a petrol.
