Cley village is just behind a large, north-facing shingle beach, with a marshy area between the village and the beach - reports suggest the aircraft when down over land, hence either on the marsh or on the shingle.

yep know the Cley area well, was up there just before Xmas for a wander - tis lovely (or it was until covered in aviation fuel and live ammo....)

Pavehawks fly right over my house en route to the coast, I'm about halfway between. Quite a different noise to a normal copter....and moving slightly quicker too
