Trying to get it steam cleaned before starting to rebuild. Anyone would think Tut never washed it the whole time he had it

Did I miss the thread where tut admitted how it ended up in a swamp?

Similar to N1 Greg where I skimmed a cows back, but this time it was a deep ditch and I had to fight off an alligator.

Will be checking the new car more often since reading this, but after Spazz there is no way that it will get the usage that N3 did.

"Hi tut,
thanks a lot. Not a problem on the invoice, I just wanted to have confirmation of whom the conversion was!

I'm working @ Kev ((which is Phil (junks) neighbour)) and we are all working on it. Phil has some problem with his back, so he supervise and supply the spares!

I'm taking a lot of pictures, yes. There has been a couple of "not so good" surprises, the rear subframe has rotten due to the exhaust manifold, so needs replacing. It was broken as well, as it is missing one engine mount.
All the wishbones on the passenger side have had to have the bolts being cut off, as they were solid with the "sleeve" inside.

But as you said, the worst is gone, now it's rebuild time.

I'll wait to start getting some of the rebuild pics, and then I'll post it up!!

Cheers/Luca"

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Hi, I'm the one who's tackling the rebuild (well with some help, and no, the help is not from a shrink!) :)

Just to follow up on the comment posted from Tut.
This is how the subframe was cooked close to the exhaust. Was similarly burned/rotten both on the manifold and silencer side, sorry I only have one picture:

on top, where the engine was sitting, the subframe cracked, pic with engine in:

and subframe off the car

Subframe is, obviously, being binned and proper insulation will be put in. But I suggest whoever had a similar conversion, to check the subframe.
Somehow more bizarrely, one engine mount was missing altogether, which I believe is what caused damaged #2 above.

I will start a blog, as soon as I have better pics and a bit of rebuild! At the same time I got the R32 Elise which was on PH, that going through some transformation too
