Getting onto the ferry with my Exige

Post by jossm » Mon Jun 16, 2014 8:39 pm

I'm going to Spa and the Nurburgring next month in my exige, just wondering what the clearance is like for getting onto the ferry. Will i need to take my splitter off? i'm going with DFDS seaways Newcastle to Amsterdam.

Thanks :)

Absolutely no problem. Many times with much lower. Watch out for the tie down widgets on the boat, don't straddle them.

If there's a big gradient change just attack it at an angle, otherwise you'll be fine

They are very good at spotting low cars and put you on the bottom deck which also helps.

Was on DFDS with the Evora and the guys were happy for me to wait at the back and load the car at the end so I could get a space to open the doors fully. Meant I was with the lorries but happy to have the extra space.

The Dutch at the other end were not so accommodating and the Evora was hemmed in like a sardine (thankfully all the other passengers were nice enough to ensure no dings).
