Tyre Fitting Livingston area

Post by TSF » Tue Oct 24, 2006 12:18 pm

Hi Lads,

Can anyone recommend a garage to fitting / balancing my own tyres

I stay in the Livingston area.... any help much appreciated.

I have enquired the local big tyre service company but the price they quoted must have included new tyres as well

Cheers
Eddie

Hi-Q tyre services at Brucefield Ind Est, may be worth a call, I think they are run on a franchise basis and the guy in there has been okay doing stuff for me in the past. Not on the Elise though..

Other option may be Central Garage, just of the A71, near Lizzy Brice, the garage is beside Stu Pollocks (stu160 on here) workshop. I've had serviceing done by them in the past(NLC), and I'm sure they have tyre fitting facilities. (I don't use them anymore, but that's another story  )

Although CLCM at Sighthill is possibly your best bet.

Will probably be in the region of £30-£40 wherever you go.

Hi Mac

Thanks for the recommendations

Funny you should mention Hi-Q tyre services at Brucefield Ind Est, as I took the wife’s car there yesterday, as I have for the past 3 tyre changes.

Only to find the apprentice lifting her car with a trolley jack on the edge of the sill and not the correct lifting point for the car  causing more than enough concern as you can imagine

As I said I have used them in the past but never again !!!!! If that’s the quality of workmanship they deliver, no matter how reasonable the price is.
I will try the other options you have sugested and keep my fingers crossed

Cheers
Eddie.

Not good to hear that1

I've only used them a couple of times, for a service and MoT, on a van. The 'franchisee' seemed quite diligent and efficient, but he wasn't in the workshop.

Good luck.

John

p.s. where about in Livi are you? and what's your mota?
