At Sainsburys this evening having given the VX a bloody good clean, missus suggests we take the roof off as it was baking with it on! Park up, remove any valuables and head into the store, get out and as unloading the 1 bag of shopping that will fit in the boot, a guy comes running over!
He tells me the police have been called but 4 neds had been looking at my car then walked off, one then ran back to the car and was seen hot footing it off back to his mates. I looked round the car and discovered the only thing missing was a pack of fags, so was not particularly bothered - trying to give up, not to mention they were duty free and cheeeeeeeap!
Anyway thanked the guy who called the police and thought we would take a little tour of the local estate to find the copper still searching. Explained that they must have been after the fags as they left the few CD's I had kicking around. He told me I f I was going to leave my roof off again in this area then I should buy a Rotweiller (sp?) and starve it and leave it in the pax seat!!
Anyway, I have to say, I am impressed with how quickly the cops must have got there, only in the shop for 25 mins, the fact that they followed it up, one guy looking on foot and the other driving round. Thanked the copper and also most impressed that someone gave a s*** and called the police, not to mention waited for me to explain.
Thieving gypsy ned scum - my ned hating campaign continues with avengance!

Suppose you were lucky, as seen on my stone launching post they could have emptied the contents of their buckie bottle into your car or something....
If it was the sainsburys at craigleith, I used to stay very near there, and had about 3grands worth of stuff whipped out my car from our carpark in the basement of our flats. The area round there between the sea and the main road is, err, not very nice.

Good they only got away with the fags - you should have laced them with cyanide as a booby trap.
If it's the Sainsburys at Straiton - I did a PR thing there a few years ago. And during my two weeks there I saw a guy make off with a DVD player and almost daily shoplifts of other stuff including a woman with a shopping trolley full of goods! The cars in the car park were constantly getting broken into as well.
Also you'd be surprised at how many people filled up with petrol then just drove off - the security guards were busy down there!
Though as a customer I've never had any problems there.
