Cheap Exige ramblings
Cheapest in UK at the moment as far as I can see, so cant see it hanging around for long (and thankfully that silly cheap 19,995 one is gone too!)
19995 exige needed tax and new tyres ... i was going to have a look but someone purchased it before i could visit. It had been running the same set or tyres for 2 years and probably needed discs and pads too i guess ... only 1 track day mind you. I will get one eventually ... hopefully ... fingers crossed :D

true ... makes me think i should really purchase from a trader:
1. i have more rights and hopefully a warrenty
2. i can trade in my car and avoid the pain of selling private
Just an observation as i have been looking for a 2004 model Exige S2 (no pain intended for existing owners):
Cheapest Approved Exige S2 (22995)
Cheapest Trader Exige S2 (21995)
Cheapest Private sale Exige S2 (19995)
Cheapest 111R private (17495)
I suspect there wont be much more in the way of deprecation this year.

Oh, and they will keep depreciating, just it wont look as much as the amounts are less, but it wont stop. Cars lose cash, fact.
3 points for JJ for making us all feel cheery about used prices!
Mines a 2005 with 9500 miles, performance pack etc. Guess I would be looking for £24500.
Summer 2008 I guess it will be worth around £21K.
It will be my last Lotus but not looking to sell yet.
Good luck with the sale Ali. It's priced to sell anyway.

That's complete nonsense.jke11y wrote:Always a story then i guess behind a cheap car, needs work, owner needs quick sale etc . If the dude had done more trackdays he would probably have spent more cash on tyres / brakes so it would mechanically be in better nick.
He said it needed new tyres and you've assumed he didn't keep it mechanically sound?

Don't be put off buying private, especially if it's still within warranty like Ali's one is. There's no real benefit in buying from a dealer apart from a 2nd hand warranty, which often ends up being worthless anyway.
