Suitable for Inspiron 6400.
Required as a spare for the office, as I'm too lazy to take my home one to & fro as well as the laptop

...and don't want to pay £44 to Dell!

Might be able to get you one from work. Can you check and let me know the wattage of the one you need? Dell sent me two new ones of the wrong wattage by mistake (for my Inspiron 8600), so we just stuck them in a cupboard in work, as Dell didn't want them back. I guess they consider power supplies disposable items . . .
I have 2 power supplies for the exact reason you mention, but work kindly paid for them

Okay, here goes for the I.T. idiot (me): On the power cable I have, it says '65W AC Adapter, model number; LA65NSO-00. Is that what you need to know?
Cheers

My work dell (Latitude D620) has a 90W Adapter...
Does that mean it's louder?
