Well FD and I had a short visit to see Mel's car
and what a pretty little thing it is, looking as good as the day it was sold in 97 and with only 12K on it

and its on Pirellis
Anyway it has the head gasket, water to atmosphere failure above the alternator and so needs a head gasket, cam belt probably and head skim as well as a set of rain tyres
Who would YOU recommend to do the work? Positive answers please and I reckon it can only go 3 or 4 miles under its own
steam

Dan has trailered cars up and down before...
Wonder when Scotty is going down to fetch his 340r, maybe could trailer it down for hime when he brings his back......
.....not wanting to offer someones servicies where I have no right to but it was just a thought...
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

First choice would be dans but transportation might be an issue.
However i have to go and drive my folks down there so they can return with a camper van. It would not be a great problem for me to trailer something down and then trailer another back. Just need to see how to get a low car onto my trailer.
Option 2
Mel under the watchful eye of the jedi masters
Option 3
Tell him it is completely fooked and only worth 1k i can give him a generous offer of 1.2k and i can have a sensible car to match the two clown cars

ESC (edinburgh sports cars) - have done the head on Simon Ironsides car before.
I'd be willing to come over and help in a spanner & sponges type session. Could be used as a training session for others?

This is a very interesting idea...I don't have much skill, but I can certainly offer some time to assist by holding the spanners...depending on scheduling. I am at least part-qualified as I have seen the inside of a cylinder head now

And tightened all my own head bolts

Personally I'd use Dan (due to my technical inabilities)
However would be very interested and happy to be a grease monkey if ESC do it.
PS. think the lead time for work at Dan's is 3 weeks, so get on the blower if thats the prefered option.

could she not push it down the road a few miles, 'break down' and then get the RAC/ AA to recover it to Dans.
The RAC recovered mine all the way from epping up to Newcastle.
Going to pick mine up on Friday morning hopefully - Fuel tank was full of sh*t on the bottom.
