Wheel Bearing .... big job !?!?!

Post by DDtB » Tue May 01, 2007 4:07 pm

So it seems I need a wheel bearing ... not sure if it's front or back yet....

Am I going to have to "assume the position" at a garage for this one or is it mac-able... ??

I await my education.... :popcorn

Cheers,

Dave.

remove the hubs and take them into a garage with a bearing press to swop the bearings over
removing the hubs is easy undoing the driveshaft nuts can be arkward
do the full set or at least the rears / fronts as a pair

write down the camber shim arrangment as you strip incase you forget

can be a bit of a pig if they're seized in (which they will be). I'd put my money on the fronts......(based on mine going recently, and being a bit older than yours :? :? )

Hasn't it been sick for the last year and you've been ignoring it thinking it was the steering rack?

Well, GE is the greatest company in the world ever ever ever!!

Why that's all i ask, why? The content's just getting worse and worse... Plus they're now tuned to Sky news instead of News24 :chainsaw

Anyway, if you can get the hub to me (via shug maybe) I'll get it done. I've got a lean Shingi event on in bench press area next week, bet a recommendation will be the removal of the press - we don't do the job it's for now

Cheers for the offer mate... will see how things go.

As soon as I get the hang of all your six sigma speak I'll see if I can butter up Laura etc. and suggest some new content for the plasmas....

They are worried if they put anything interesting on you'll all keep heading for the blue crew room etc. to watch it so the idea is to keep it dull !!!

Just tell them your MSA proven data has shown its CTQ and will improve the business Y through the critical X's with Kaizen and better value stream maps if you improve the content.

:?

It's not as if at 4 coffees a day plus lunch i'd squeeze more blue crew room visit's a day in :)

Anyway, i'm getting an extra week's pay and taken to dinner this month for spouting that sort of stuff, it's not all bad :P
