Had a guy round last night to have a look at my flat, as I am thinking about renting it out the week of the oil show @ the AECC.
He said that I should get £225 per bed room per night ( i have just converted my 3 bedroom flat into a 2 bedroom , Doh!!!) =£450 -25% for them. £337.50 for 4 nights Minimum £1350.
Think I will get a nice holiday for that
Anyone else in Aberdeen area interested PM me and I can give you the guys contact details.

Similar to that - my bro is renting out his house for the fortnight of the Open at Carnoustie (he lives in Broughty Ferry - 5bed) and is getting £4500 while he pi$$es orf to see Mickey Mouse in Florida
AND - my folk's next door neighbour is renting their hooga hoose for [rumour alert]circa £20,000 to Nick Faldo

Houses in my street are around £5k a week for the Open. Couldn't be arsed moving all my stuff out so I didn't bother.

Si, exactly my thoughts - plus my missus doesn't fancy the thought of strangers kipping (assuming that's all they'd be doing

) in our kid's beds

Did look at doing this for the festival in Edinburgh - although it sounds good got to take into account stuff that will get broken/stolen etc etc. You can be lucky or very unlucky

!!!
So what you're saying is, if I arrange to stay over with my Dad (Tayside Street) on the day I'm going to watch the Open, he'll charge me several hundred pounds for his spare room

I can see what you saying, but you have to remember these are professional people (?) and 90% of the time the company is picking up the tab.
You get a £500 deposit put into your account when the booking is taken. Its up to you to meet the customer on arrival and show them round the property etc. Then go meet them when they leave and make sure everything is ok, if you both agree everything is fine the monies are released back to them.
Fingers crossed it will work out that easy.

With the Open you've got to take anything valuable out and they need to leave a fairly large deposit so you're covered for any damages.
