Ever fancied getting your tyres filled with Nitrogen?

Post by bobnitro » Mon Aug 13, 2007 3:35 pm

Found an absolute Gem!!!

NITRO tyres is a mobile tyre service that works in the Falkirk area (but I am sure he could travel further afield.

Gents name is Gary and he got disillusioned with a well known tyre fitting company, so he has decided to go it alone.

He can do wheels up to 24" diameter and has a great set up in his van.

He came to my house and fitted my tyres. Cost me £60. That may sound like a lot of money, but he takes his time and extra care with your wheels, fits them with nice new shiny metal hex caps, and here is the best bit...........he fills them with Nitrogen!

Just thought I would let you guys know.

Bob

when my mate worked as a tyre fitter in Ayr they used to rip off the boy racers in their 1.2 corsa's by charging them £3 a corner to fill them with nitrogen.

Nitrogen has a low thermal expansion so your tyre pressure won't change as much when the tryes warm.

as long as it's dry you should't have to much trouble with normal air. it's 80% nitrogen anyway.

I think the molecules are also bigger so less leakage .

£60 is still a bit much.

60 quid for him coming to your house though. Otherwise it would be 40.

60 sounds resonable for a home service
