Admiral multicar

Post by Lazydonkey » Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:33 am

Got to say a big :thumbsup to admiral multicar.

Just got a call to say that they've noticed i've been geting a number of multicar quotes lately and is there anything they can do to make me say "yes".

I said the price is good but if thye could move it a bit that would be ace.

So they dropped £50 off the VX policy, checked the existing Panda policy to get dates of when shelley passed test, how long she's been a named driver, when exactly my accident and points were etc etc. Basically got all the details for me and made it as easy as possible.

So it boiled down to the gorgeous price of ???? £455 8) :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

......for my modded 2.2 VX (remap, exige suspension, front spoiler, splam grill, induction kit, zaust) 16k miles pa, class one business, parked on the street in G5 postcode and (the clincher for me) a additional driver who's 26 years old and only had her license since Jan.

Much as I'd love to give the business to one of the specialists with trackday cover (CCI, Eggar etc) , they were all between £200 and £700  more expensive and no-one would add Shell to the policy until she'd been driving at least two years. THe admiral quote is also a huge £200 less than my Chris Knott renewal with no reduction in cover.

Asssuming shell doesn't drive the panda into something between now and Oct they're only going to charge £280 for that, and that allows her to build up her no-claims. (they've already given her a year as a named driver on my policy)

I think this is the first time i've renewed my insurance and not felt like i've been completely shafted. :thumbsup It's also interesting that multicar only started working for me when it was multicar and multi-driver, before Shell passed her test it offered no saving at all.

Totally agree. I've been on multicar for last 3 years (basically since I got my Elise) and no-one has been able to touch them on price. They're quite easy to deal with too (in my experience, but I suppose it depend who you get at the callcentre...).

Interesting point too - my wife just got quoted less on Admiral normal policy (non multicar) than for her usual policy with Diamond at renewal date, even although Diamond and Admiral are the same company! Looks like Admiral are out to secure business - good news for us.

I am nearly as mature as you Mac :blackeye and have only made one £4.5k claim in the last 3 years. 8 years no claims and clean licence ( touches wood, no not that wood) . Time for a change to an insurer who appreciates my outstanding driving ability . :damnfunny

All my effort goes into not being caught ;) ;)

The exhaust has probably slowed me down the most, unless I am in a hurry or I am putting some effort into it and making progress the noise is a bit much and I tend to sit at 60mph on motorways etc

They tried to hump be also!! Wasn't too impressed. Never accept the renewal price if you are sticking with the same company.
