<collective "aaawwwww"!>

Now look if this racing lark is going to make you all boring and depressed, you should just give it up and go back to being a party animal! Where's the James Hunt in you man?!

Won't stop you from going to Nottingham's finest lap dancing bars after the curry tho!!!

As Campbell says, a few drinks and a bit of womanising along with a few fags, the night before a race never did James Hunt any harm :thumbsup ....................

Didn't think Scotty was that way inclined anyway.

Hmm.

The bus may be dead and buried before this trip ... final roll call for people that wanted a lift down ... so far it's nobody, which is fine (I'll take the Elise) ... if it's somebody, then the bus may have to be given a stay of execution :-)

Cheers,
Robin

No way! Whassup?

Ford were doing crackpot deals on Galaxies recently. I nearly bought one. Then saw the error of my ways..."that route leads to the Dark Side, young Skywalker" etc. I have instead sold my soul to the Skoda Rebellion...

Yes, it has developed a significant number of faults since xmas the sum of which would cost a lot to repair - in itself no problem, but if you look at the cost of ownership of a Galaxy over the next 3 years, I think it'll be cheaper to replace the whole thing. Also it's starting to rust (13 years old now) and other people I know who've had them have spent loads patching them up to pass MOT only to fail again next year and finally be scrapped. So all in, I think it's farewell to the bus :-(

Looking at Galaxy 2.0 TDCi "zetec" spec - one year old cars sitting around 10K miles are somewhere around 16K pre-haggling - but as you say, the real bargain would appear to be buying a new one - the 1.8 TDCi being sold new at 6.5K off list!!

We've had to shell out to get the fuel pipe repaired as we're going on holiday this weekend and no time to sort out anything else - but I've decided not to repair the other 1K+ worth of faults until we come back and have had a chance to get a sensible price on a 2.0 TDCi Galaxy (Toyota don't seem to make the Previa anymore :-( ).

On the plus side, Katie is enamoured by the Galaxy that her pal has - so, she'll be happy with one of those.

Cheers,
Robin

All sounds terribly sensible. Best of luck with it, I'm sure you can have some sport doing your haggling. I did!!

Presumably you have ruled out Seat Alhambra, admittedly getting long in the tooth but there have been Seat deals to be had of late on those as well, because it must be near runout model time...just a thought.

Have a great holiday.

Looks like good deals to be had on Citroens too - I actually quite like the look of the c3 people carrier that has been advertised on the telly recently  ( probably wouldn't buy one thought :? )

Yep - 2008 one here at a car supermarket for £14999

As I said, happy to take the Panda down if it's just the two of us, and we're sticking to M Ways...Not quite as good as Katie's 330D, but then she'll need something to run about in, if the bus is pretty terminal...

(If we're taking the scenic route / travelling with other Loti, obviously the 135 would be the prime option... )

I'm sure she'd be pretty happy with your Panda in exchange...it's only for a weekend after all!

How do. :D I hope all is well with everyone.

Campbell if it's not too late count me in for the curry. I won't need a hotel as I'm at my girlfriends that weekened and she only lives 18 miles from the circuit. I might even be in the Elise if it can manage more than 50 miles without something falling off it.

I remember the last time we were at the Donnie 'car boot sale' *. How time flies!

* What a poor joke. Sorry.
