But then, there are fewer of them up here (exiges / 340`s), so thats different again.

I bought my exige in Devon, but there were no cars for sale up here so didnt have a choice. Bottom line is, you buy where there is a deal whether its down the road or a long way down the road.

I bought mine in Norfolk , a very long drive but it was what I wanted . Prices appeared to crash last August and the number of cars for sale was silly . I thought it may have been increased by the number of people downgrading to 111R's  Only time will tell what happens this year .

K series engined Elises are future classics and I am not selling until I get back what I paid

I have been told on good authority that the reason for poor K series sales is down to Rover going bust. That's scared people off...feck knows why.

Sounds about right. Dispite the fact that they are still in Freelanders and every Rover going.

If I can get spares for a 1975 Ford Cortina engine over the counter, I doubt Rover K bits wil be a problem for a loooong time!

I think you're spot on Rich - as you've said elsewhere, its not as if they're mechanically complex engines to work on either!

If I can rebuild a head in my bedroom out of second hand parts and a few tools then they can't be that difficult!

Obviously fitting was a little more complex... But we got there in the end with very little fuss overall

I think in its broken state that wouldn't have been an upgrade!

The only upgrade engine wise I'd been toying with was the supercharged version
