Apple hacked me off the other week, with their attitude towards my iTunes account being defrauded.

I'd started receiving iTunes receipts for apps I hadn't purchased - I don't even have an iPhone! (Well; I've got a 4 now, but didn't at the time).

I was a victim of the scam, whereby developers hack your account (brute force / character generate your password?), and buy their own apps, to boost them up the sales charts.

I changed the password immediately, and contacted Apple - Who sent a standard form e-mail saying "Not our problem - You're the one who's been defrauded. Contact your own bank".

So, I've had all the hassle of cancelling my card, waiting for a new one, and filling in reams of paperwork relating to the case. Still waiting for Apple to refund the money into my account...Will take weeks.

I'd become another iSheep of late, with a new MBP / iPhone 4 on order...But their customer service really seems to suck, for the premium prices they charge... :x

Ha!

Thing is - I don't actually use the iTunes store, and hadn't made a purchase in over 2 years...So suddenly buying £60+ worth of Korean apps doesn't really fit my purchasing profile...

I would send back my iPhone 4...But I haven't even opened the box yet. It's been sitting for a fortnight, awaiting my return from yet more overtime at work... :tired

I also got my iTunes account hacked recently - Apple ( or at least the customer services rep I spoke to ) were very apologetic but it was still a total pain having to cancel / replace credit card and update the associated accounts.

I first noticed the problem when I tried to update apps on my iPhone - my account password no longer worked so I reset but had the same problem the following day!

Based on the purchases made it's looks like my account was hacked from Korea too

Oh god, hope that doesnt happen to anyone else and that Apple are banning these hackers from selling apps on the store.

I have been looking for things to do to help make my phone run a bit quicker and found this article on my reading travels. Hopefully they'll come up with a solution now other than "buy a new phone".

For those suffering on a 3G running 4.01 or 4.02 then GET 4.1. Back to normal again.

Just updated to 4.1, it is marginally quicker but not back to normal though for me.
