Re: Project V6 Elise
Great thread, just had a major catch up read. The quality of work and attention to detail is fantastic.
Keep it up!

Re: Project V6 Elise
R32 is a hevay car, engine is not too bad. Ive had that in a Corrado and it was fine.campbell wrote:Sadly, heavy probably doesn't even begin to describe itcoullstar wrote:Some impressive work here. Im a V6 man myself, love them so wish you the best with getting this done.
Has anyone considered using the VAG 24v VR engine as this is a narrow bank V6? Im a VW man and its a relatively small, narrow engine with a lovely note. An R32'd Elise would be amazing.I believe even EVO feel that lump is heavy for R32s and the like?
Nice idea though...I'm with you on Veedub group enginesI always felt a 1.4tdi would be fun!!
Back to this topic I have to agree with one of the recent posts on the driveability that V6 gives over FI or smaller NA engines is what will make this a great conversion, the noise is just an added bonus.

Hopefully the next knockhill outing when I get it back and I'm not on shift. If anyone wants a looks-see/run give us a shoutGourlay83 wrote:When will be the first shake down on track then ?

Keep it up fella. I'm amazed at the level of raw fab required for something like this. I have zero skills and therefor get zero man points. You, however, get many.

Yep sometimes you can have tooooo big an audience.
We appreciate the insight into what you are doing, so don't change a thing.
If you tire of the SELOC nonsense, then abandon them for on-the-fly updates, complete the job, then just publish a storyboard when you are satisfied with the final result.
There will always be naysayers and know-betters but if you have a happy customer, or several in due course, then who's laughing now

I've read the thread. They've not been that harsh on you relative to how that forum can be, and those that have asked questions have in the main been engineers asking mostly pertinent, at the time, questions. Meanwhile you've continued to insist the quality of your conversion is better than any other while insisting the 4 pot conversions are twice the price they should be without any seemingly real knowledge of the actual conversions hemselves. Take a step back?
Good luck with the rest of the conversion, it looks interesting and I've enjoyed following your progress.
