i'm kinda hoping that it will be remotely possible to get to the alarm WITHOUT taking the pax seat out! i'll also have a look into wiring up a little button that can lock the doors from the inside

The anti-car jacking benefit of this will also save lives! It works on so many levels. Anyone have a 111s that could take a pic of where this button is mounted?

would be much appreciated. the 111r has a different centre column.
edit: Just had a heads up from a pistonheads member who has done exactly this - "No, the alarm is not there, look behind your head unit..." apparently only the microwave sensor and other things are behind the bulkhead.

bhind the head unit? bloody hell i'll never get to it in there - it was hard enough to put the head unit in and i cut my hand into ribbons while doing it off the aluminium facade.
can i not just get another reciever and program it to respond to the alarm key fob?

In my s1 the alarm and stuff is all behind the dash, I saw it when I took it apart to cover it.

This all sounds like a hell of a lot of work when you should really be out driving it!

Don't worry it will be driven just plenty! If a jobs worth doing its worth doing right.
Or usually in my case worth half doing semi-right.
