I'm happier watching an over hyped Hamilton than a cheating German. So many folk I know who haven't (like me) watched for years are returning to the fold.

Nothing wrong with Mr Schumacher he was just creative with the rules and from a technical point of view that has to be encouraged but from a spectator point of view you have to make it more interesting. I suppose Hamilton does make it slightly more interesting but F1 has become a bit boring it has become more like a cruise than a race, everyone just follows everyone else Yawn! The sad thing is it is easily sorted if you set a maximum permisable amount of downforce on the rear wing that would spice everything up. It has gotten to the stage where I won't watch it unless its raining.

All I know is, suddenly I want to watch it now, as do my brothers, my dad, my friends etc etc.
I could go on about the Germans disrespect to the legacy of others who died to create this sport, or the fact Ferrari conveniently had a veto over any rule the FIA make... but I wont

Schumacher was a self centered person of questionable parentage who would do anything to win. Ferrari only care about Ferrari. which is the same for all teams / sportsmen in the upper echelons of sport its a multi million pound business and if some questionable tactics are called for to win and make you or your team many millions of pounds it will get done.

How many people would given the chance drive their opponant off the road if it meant they would become world champion ?

So yes let's agree to disagree.

P.s. Did sort of watch it but I was dozing from the excitement.

I have been watching for years, but less so in recent years. This year, I have become more interested. Although Schumi had moments of greatness, and often thought and planned his race very well, under pressure he often resorted to dirty rotten cheating tactics. Hamilton's record so far is impeccable, and looks set for much glory. I keep expecting him to have a fall at some point, but he does appear to have a reasonable mature head on his shoulders. The press really is piling on the pressure with all the hype, but he is cooly getting on with the job. As long as he does not get a arogant as Schumi, who I could not stand as a person (in interviews etc anyway).

Schumacher maybe wasnt the best with interviews but compared to his replacement he was alright.

Kimi wouldnt even speak to MB at the weekend.

id like it more if they got rid of all those stupid wings all over the cars!

You have to have downforce, but you also have to force the teams to inovate reduce allowable downforce on the rear wing if they do that there is no point having tonnes on the front it means they need to find other ways to make the car faster.

The mark of a good driver is what they do when things are not going their way not what they do when everything is.

Good luck to the boy it will be interesting to see what he can do as the season goes on.

Removing all the wings will make the cars go faster, in the straights, and slower in the corners, the grooved tyres were introduced to slow the cars in the corners,(safety) but now they need to look at keeping the wings simpler/smaller to reduce reliance on downforce/clean airflow.
