NOOPS - Its happening for you.... if you want to go... same with anyone on here :/ What is complicated about that? The date and venue are obvious, along with the costs.

Hello,
Just a quick email to remind you about the trackday and to go over some points of interest for the day.
Sunday the 24th June 2007
16:30 – Sign On
17:00 – Session Begins
20:00 – Session Ends
The session will be run as an open pit after an initial sighting lap. The session may be delayed slightly due to the reorganisation needed after the VW RWYB during the day. We have been promised 3hrs track time though.
I will provide Willie/Crail with a list of participant’s names/cars to make it easy for them to check you off when you pay the remaining £17.50 (£35 if you haven’t paid the deposit). You will then be given a wrist band, which will be checked before getting on track.
Have a look at this list. If I’ve missed anything, or simply got it wrong please let me know ASAP.
1 Adam K R32 GTR
2 Fee R32 GTR
3 Blebo Punto
4 Andy Skyline
5 WilsonSRi Nova
6 Shaun Astra
7 Gord 106 Gti
8 Cameron Focus RS
9 Dunc 200sx
10 Steve RX7
11 Seanab R32 GTR
12 Laura EVO V
13 Alex EVO V
14 Gordon McNelly 205
15 Gavin Campbell 205
16 Supra Steve Supra
17 Skyline
18 g10eck Supra
19 Paul Impreza
20 Phil EVO 6
As you’ll notice there are a lot of fairly quick cars attending! Don’t let this put you off or intimidate you! The Crail track is quite short and twisty so favours smaller lighter cars.
Discount:
If you are participating in the 1/4mile during the day you will be eligible for a £5 discount off the final track price. Keep your 1/4mile band/number as proof.
Safety:
Helmets are compulsory for open top cars, and optional for the rest. If you have one, wear it! No helmets will be available for hire on the day. Bring your driving licence on the day. I’ve never had to produce it at Crail but better to cover it just incase they ask. They normally give the car a quick once over before allowing it on track, so make sure everything is secure/safe. Bring spare fuel if you can as it’s a pain heading away from the track to try and find a station!
I have a useful guide to general track days on the site http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/forums/v ... c.php?t=14 it’s worth a read if you’ve never done one before.
Basically just start slow to find your own pace, and have fun!
Keep an eye out for any updates on the day - http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/forums/v ... .php?t=130
For directions to crail, and general crail info - http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/
Cheers,
Adam

I went to the last one and it was a pretty good day.
Especially for £35. Similar surface to Teeside I would say in that it is quite hardwearing.
Video Here
Number 20, Phil's Evo has a 700 odd bhp Norris Engine so no slouch, don't know about the driver though.

I wouldn't say it is better than Teeside, it is less technical but then the Teeside slow bit is really annoying. All pretty much 3rd gear bends so good in it's own way.ed wrote:
D is it a better circuit compared to Teeside?! I have heard bad things re the stone chips.........

I did crack my winscreen the last time but I was driving up Jamsie's ar$e for about 5 laps so only myself to blame.

I got a chip on my winscreen at Teeside the week before so that just finished it off.

Surface was pretty good and I like the lawlessness of it.

Surprised at the attitude shown towards this, not the SE'rs I know.

Its' not the 1/4 mile it's a trackday.

Im at Cadwell so its always been a no go for me.
I think it may have been overlooked by some firstly as theres no one we know going and secondly no real introduction from Adam before he started advertising the track day. Also there was no background info until you posted. ie nothing about overtaking rules etc etc These are just my observations.....
Personally id like to give it a go at some point as long as the date suits.

I'm not doing this one either.ed wrote:Im at Cadwell so its always been a no go for me.I think it may have been overlooked by some firstly as theres no one we know going and secondly no real introduction from Adam before he started advertising the track day. Some good constructive points there for Adam to consider. That's much more helpfull.

Ed, I think you'd like it as you could stretch you cars legs a bit with the fast sweepers.

Just found evidence of the cause of my chipped windscreen.

This chap was there the last time (forgot his name

Fair points raised, i maybe should have given more info on the style of trackday.
As Donald mentioned its a bit more exiting than a hot marques, but not as wild as a Hot Hatch 'used' to be. The last one was pretty much well driven by everbody with no stupid overtaking, most folk seemed to just naturally move over for much faster cars.
The surface is a lot better than before too. Stones were cleared for the last one, and the circuit generally avoids all the pot holes.
I think there is a lot of stigma around about crail..... sh*t, its a cheap track we can use! Its not as good as knockhill thats why its less than half its price!
I've started organising a day at Brands Hatch.... 14th August.... Anyone interested?
If anyone has any questions email me ( adam@trackscotland.co.uk ) or pop over for a chat, i should be at Hot Marques tonight in the skyline.
